Alright, let’s be real – there’s all kind of different baby bottles. There’s the expensive ones, the cheap ones, the cute ones, and the downright ugly ones.
You know which ones I’m talking about..
But there’s also baby bottles that are good for your baby and bad for your baby. If you’re like me, you probably just went…
“There’s a bad bottle for your baby?!”
Do you intensely question every second of your parenting skills up until this point?
If that’s you, don’t worry! In fact, a lot of parents don’t know about all the dangers that come along with different baby bottles (and yes, there’s a lot!).
So today I want to talk about a few dangers, and why I prefer glass baby bottles over plastic! So, let’s start with plastic baby bottles.
I was using plastic bottles religiously for the first year of my first child’s life, but made the switch to glass baby bottles after it was recommended to me by a friend. She told me that the plastic lining from the bottles that I was loving so much can wear down over time into the milk and cause various problems including cancer in your baby.
That’s a big scary thing!
And as I’m sure you can guess, that was already a big enough motivation to push me to change!
But if that’s not enough, I did a little more research on the difference between glass and plastic baby bottles also found many reports from mothers who said that a certain type of infant bottle made their baby sick due to lack of proper cleaning due to it’s material.
Yeah, glass bottles are looking pretty good right about now.
So, because I quickly wanted to replace my babies bottle with a new glass one that would be safer, longer-lasting, and easier to clean, I searched every inch of the web for the best glass baby bottles, and these are what I found and can’t recommend enough!
Safest Glass Baby Bottles
1 ♥ Evenflo: My #1 Go-To Glass Bottle
I absolutely adore the Evenflo glass bottles, as these were the first glass feeding bottles I tried with my baby. Let me tell you, switching from plastic to glass is such an big transition that truly makes you realize how much easier a simple change of products can make bottle feeding.
And truly makes question why you didn’t do it earlier!
These bottles not only make clean-up super easy (I’m talking hardly lifting a finger) and are recyclable, but they are also BPA free, so I know that I am always giving my baby the healthiest and safest option.
If you’re looking to make the switch to glass infant feeding bottles (or looking to fall in love) I would strongly suggest you give the Evenflo glass bottles a try!
2 ♥ Phillips Avent – Best Breastfeeding Assistant
Recommended to me by a friend, if your baby has a hard time learning to latch on properly, using this glass infant bottle will be a major help to you.
I remember talking to a fellow mommy blogger when I first started my blog, and she saw one of my ‘best baby products’ postings, and recommended I give this bottle a try.
Not only did she tell me how safe and easy to use it was, but she said that it actually helped her baby to latch-on easier because of it’s more comfortable and realistic nipple shaped top (mom hacks for the win!). So if you’re having trouble breast feeding, give this baby a go and watch it work wonders!
3 ♥ Be Free With Born Free Glass Bottles
Gifted to me by grandma (you go grandma!), this glass bottle is a dream come true! A big problem I’ve come across with a lot of bottles is the leaking from the nipple top, and it often goes all over the baby.
Ain’t nobody got time to clean that up.
But with Born Free it’s very – well, free!
Just as with the other two bottles above, this is a super easy clean bottle, and very secure.
You could probably throw it at the wall and it was still be intact… don’t try at home, kids…
I also have yet to notice any fading, and of course, it’s toxin free! So really, you can’t beat this little beauty!
4 ♥ Baby Brezza Is The Bessta!
I gave this glass baby bottle a shot on my third and final baby (as of now… muhaha!), and it worked like a charm! My baby boy did not want to transition from breastfeeding to the bottle at all.
So, recommended to me by many of my blogger friends (love you gals) for an easier and less fussy transition, I tried the Brezza bottle and it works like a jewel!
It has a very wide nipple top that appears much more realistic than most other bottles, which helps your baby to feel as though they are still breastfeeding even when they aren’t (bazing!).
And if you need a few extra tips on how to wean your baby off of breastfeeding, the website, babyledweaningideas.com, has tons of information about it! The blogger, Rachael, wrote a fantastic post on how her relationship with her baby changed (for the better) throughout the transition of breastfeed to bottle feeding and I would highly recommend you take a look on how she did it if you’re struggling like I did!
5 ♥ Check Out The Chicco Glass Bottle!
Now, this is one I have yet to try but am definitely interested! This one is also supposedly an excellent choice when trying to transition from breastfeeding.
What really interests me about this particular glass baby bottle that I haven’t seen with other glass bottles is the fact that it also comes with an angled top as well as a regular one for more comfortable and secure feeding in various positions.
I also love all the reviews I’ve seen about a quick clean up (because a busy momma like me definitely needs that!). I haven’t read one bad review on this baby, and honestly can’t wait to get my own and give it a shot!
Overall, there’s a lot of different glass baby bottles you can choose from for your baby, but I think it’s safe to say that the safest, smartest, and easiest way to go is by using a glass bottle. If you’re still skeptical, give one of these bottles a shot and compare it to your plastic one. I have a feeling you will have an obvious choice afterwards! And I’m sure your baby will love it as much as mine did!
